The Cuzachapa Cooperative has committed itself to producing quality coffee and to protecting its farmers and environment. The coop has supported hospitals and local schools, namely “La Escuela Santa Elenita”, for the families within the community in which the cooperative operates. The coop has also made efforts to support reforestation around Chalchupa.
~ El Salvador History ~
Coffee from El Salvador was historically considered generally dependable but undistinguished. Recently, however, El Salvador has experienced a renaissance in the production of gourmet coffees. These recent offerings are marked by medium to high Acidity, nutty or chocolaty overtones, and medium/full Body. One of the most quickly emerging origins in the world of fine Arabica coffees. The best grade of El Salvador coffee is Strictly High Grown, grown at elevations above 1200 Meters (3937 ft.). Most El Salvador coffee is grown in various degrees of shade.
